Benicia Train Ferry Project
The Southern Pacific Railroad’s train ferry, the Solano, was the largest train ferry in the world when it began service in 1879. Its home port was the town of Benicia, California’s former capital. I'm currently working on an AR experience to showcase this fascinating piece of history and engineering. The experience features a wood-burning steam locomotive modeled in Blender, and a Gaussian splat reconstruction of the ferry from a scanned diorama!
